Landau Morley LLP is licensed and regulated by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales to carry out non-contentious probate work. Probate and estate administration is a legal and financial process which takes place after someone has died. It can be a complicated and lengthy procedure to complete. Our team are able to assist with applying for the grant of probate and dealing with the administration of the estate. Our services include:

1) Assistance with identifying the assets and liabilities of the estate

2) Computation of the inheritance tax position, ensuring that all available reliefs and exemptions are claimed

3) Completion of the inheritance tax forms

4) Dealing with the income tax affairs of the deceased and the estate

5) Application to HM Courts and Tribunals Service for the grant of probate

6) Assistance with distributing the assets to the beneficiaries of the estate

In doing so, we can reduce the amount of time it takes to compile the necessary information. It can be difficult to estimate at the outset the amount of time it will take to administer an estate as this not only depends on the range and complexity of the estate but also on the processing times of HM Revenue & Customs and HM Courts & Tribunals Service. We will keep you updated throughout the process and do our utmost to ensure that this is expedited wherever possible.

Competitive pricing – We are confident that our approach to gathering the relevant information, calculating the tax and administering the estate will keep costs to a minimum. We generally work on a fixed fee basis, and we aim to be transparent about our charges. After an initial fact-finding session, we will provide you with a quote based on our understanding of the volume and complexity of the work involved. We may on occasion consider that charging an hourly rate is more appropriate and our fees on that basis range between £100 and £300 per hour (exclusive of VAT). These rates are subject to periodic review.
