Michael Freedman, Managing Partner

Michael Freedman

Michael qualified with Landau Morley in 1965 and was appointed a manager before leaving the practice to work in industry for 10 years. During that period he held positions as financial controller, commercial director and managing director in small businesses and large multi-nationals and in a range of sectors. Michael also spent two years at London Business School securing an MBA. 

Michael returned to Landau Morley in 1975 and was appointed managing partner in 1995. He is responsible for ensuring that we continue to maintain the highest professional standards and our first class service to clients - and the smooth running of the practice. 

At the same time, Michael looks after a portfolio of clients providing advice on a broad range of topics, drawing on his many years of professional and commercial experience. 

Aside from his work commitments, Michael is active in a number of communal charities and enjoys regular brisk walks.

Geoffrey Davies

Geoffrey Davies

Born in the 'baby-boomer' post-war years, Geoffrey joined Landau Morley's audit team immediately after qualifying with another firm in 1972. Soon, an opportunity arose to work within personal tax and he had found his niche.

Since 1982 Geoffrey has been Landau Morley's dedicated personal tax partner. He enjoys assisting clients not only with their tax returns, ensuring they pay the correct amount of tax, but also with any tax issues as they arise, and tax planning for clients' and their families' benefit now and in the future. Ably assisted by his loyal and experienced team, he aims to provide a level of service that is second to none and at a fair price.

When not in the office, Geoffrey likes nothing more than working in his garden and spending time with his grandchildren.

Paul Kutner

Paul Kutner

Paul joined the firm in 1973 and became a partner in 1979. His particular expertise is guiding and encouraging business owners from start-up phase to mature business success. He is familiar with the many challenges that face business leaders and often takes the role of business adviser to his clients, rather than solely that of accountant.

Paul's other areas of specialisation are charities, academies and Israel based companies.  In addition, he organises our popular taxation investigation insurance scheme – which no client should be without!

Paul is the person to write to if you are applying for a job at Landau Morley.  He takes special interest in the research and methodology supporting personal development and was for many years an assessor for Investor In People (IIP) status. 

In his spare time, Paul enjoys growing vegetables and cycling. For many years, he kept a small flock of chickens, but has given this up so he can see more of his grandchildren!

Bhupendra Thakrar

Michael Haberfeld

Bhupendra qualified as a chartered accountant in 1974 and worked for KPMG before joining Landau Morley in 1977. He  became a partner in 1982.

He works with clients of all sizes and has become particularly expert in assisting them with compliance issues and tax planning, but specialises in the owner-managed business sector.

He is closely involved with the development of the Landau Morley's IT department, advises clients on choosing and installing accounting software.

Bhupendra works long hours, but outside of the office he enjoys badminton and travelling overseas.

Richard Lampert

Richard Lampert

Richard started his career with Landau Morley and qualified in 1971. Then, he moved to a small firm, which he was instrumental in building to a much larger practice that was merged with a top 20 firm in 1990. 

Richard returned to his roots in 1998, and since then has acted for a multitude of businesses, chiefly small and medium sized enterprises that benefit from this hands-on approach and his expertise as a business adviser.    

His calm demeanour puts any anxious clients at ease.  He plays golf and bridge - sometimes with his clients - when he's not enjoying the company of his grandchildren!

Lynn Williams

Lynn Williams

Lynn was born in Birmingham and travelled to Sheffield for her BA Honours degree in Economics and Accountancy.  Then, she headed south and for London, qualifying in 1981, since when she’s been with Landau Morley.

Lynn’s expertise includes an expert knowledge of VAT and its correct treatment, and her unrivalled ability to ensure 'last-minute clients' file their accounts on time, through her unswerving encouragement and constant support.

Together with running a home and looking after her husband and son, she has little time left to pursue her hobbies of walking, reading and sewing.

Robert Jezierski

Robert Jezierski

Robert spent his university years in Manchester, graduating in 1977. He went on to train and qualify as a chartered accountant with another London firm.  In 1983, he joined Landau Morley as an audit senior, before his promotion to manager and then his appointment as partner. 

Robert has experience across a wide range of sectors, including property, professional services, retail, wholesale and manufacturing. His areas of specialisation are Audit and Corporate Tax matters.  His keen focus is to provide a comprehensive and swift service to clients who have queries on these matters.

Robert’s leisure activities include extensive travel, skiing, mountain trekking and keeping fit. He is a devoted Watford Football Club supporter.

Michael graduated from Bristol University in 1987 with a degree in Economics and Accounting. He gained experience with a large firm before qualifying with Landau Morley in 1990 and becoming a partner in 1999.

Michael has extensive experience of acting for small and medium sized businesses in the areas of taxation, audit, statutory and management account.  His expertise lies in providing clients with budgeting and cash flow forecasting.

Michael’s spare time is mostly spent with his young family, but in the summer, when time permits, he can often be found at an air show gazing into the sky.

David Passey

David Passey

After graduating from Plymouth University, David joined the Royal Air Force and trained as a Navigator.  He started his accountancy career with a London firm of chartered accountants and served on the Executive Committee of the Chartered Accountant Students’ Society of London.  He joined Landau Morley in 1983.

David works with a wide variety of clients, including charities, sports clubs, solicitor firms, other partnerships and government funded bodies, and business across the sector range. He has an excellent understanding of all their accounting, internal audit and taxation needs.

Outside of work, David’s pastimes include trying to keep fit, trivia (with pub quiz teams – specialising in history), fossil hunting and keeping a tight rein on the activities of his teenage daughters.

Paul Faber

Paul Faber

Paul joined Landau Morley in 1996 as a trainee and qualified as an accounting technician (AAT) in 1999.  Subsequently, he qualified as a chartered accountant in 2002, becoming a Partner in 2007 and became a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in 2012. 

Much of his time at Landau Morley is spent working with our corporate teams dealing with his vast range of business clients, both in terms of size and industry sectors. While Paul's clients vary, his approach to all is the same in that his goal is to build a detailed knowledge and excellent relationship with each.

Paul enjoys a wide range of sports, including scuba diving and badminton – and is a devoted supporter of his favourite football team, Queens Park Rangers.

Sabrina Dunn

Sabrina Dunn

Sabrina joined Landau Morley in 1999 as a trainee. She qualified as an accounting technician (AAT) in 2001, became a chartered accountant in 2003 and was invited to join the partnership in 2011.

With Landau Morley, Sabrina has devoted much of her time to working with business clients and leading our corporate teams service to them.  Sabrina enjoys a broad range of experience for a newly appointed partner, which reflects Landau Morley's approach to the personal development of our people.

Sabrina’s main interest outside of work is trampolining - she is a qualified coach and dedicates much of her spare time to training others in the sport.

 Jonathan Weinstein

 

Jonathan joined Landau Morley in 2003 as a trainee.  After qualifying as a chartered accountant in 2006 and building his experience in audit and accountancy, Jonathan decided to broaden his knowledge of taxation.  He qualified as a chartered tax adviser in 2011 and became a partner in 2012. 

Jonathan has developed his expertise in the field of taxation and advises a wide range of clients on all aspects of personal taxation as well as providing general accountancy and business advice in tandem with this.

Much of Jonathan’s spare time is devoted to his young family.

Information Technology

Richard Press, who has been with Landau Morley for some 30 years, is the manager of our IT department, which incorporates our payroll and bookkeeping services.

The IT department also advises clients on choosing and installing accounting software.
